What is MWAVE?
MWAVE is and has always been about showing the objective side of AV and home theater providing demonstrable, objective, and knowledge based experiences that go counter to virtually every other show and expo out there. MWAVE and the people you meet along the way will help you get to your destination. With the reduction in ticket pricing cost this year, what MWAVE offers is now more accessible than ever.
What can I experience at MWAVE?
MWAVE brings everything to the fingertips of its participants. Coming allows attendees to compare equipment, gain knowledge from experiences and seminars, and form lasting relationships with both fellow enthusiasts and the companies we admire. If you want to further your AV or home theater journey, MWAVE is the place to do it.
When is MWAVE?
MWAVE will take place September 18th-20th of 2026 and takes place in Kansas City at the Kansas City Convention Center.
Where can I stay and eat while attending MWAVE?
Being in downtown Kansas City, there are many options to stay and play while attending MWAVE. If you wish to see options for places to stay, as well as things to see and eat see the image to the right. If you click on the blue image it will open in a new link for easier viewing.
Where can I park while attending MWAVE?
Just like most other expo and large events, parking can be an issue at MWAVE. Luckily, downtown Kansas City has many options for parking including surface and garages. The grey map shows many of these options. If you click on the grey city image it will open in a new link for easier viewing.
Are there any volunteer opportunities at MWAVE?
MWAVE is a small show that does many things differently in order to make things easier on attendees and vendors as well as to do the events and showcases that are available. In order to make a lot of the things that we do happen, we are looking for 10-15 volunteers to help assist in setup and tear down. I went to this event last year and found it more useful to the typical HT enthusiast than something like CEDIA, which is aimed more at the trade than end users. I participated in a couple of blind listening tests which really opened my eyes (ears?) on how difficult it can be to distinguish between well designed products. Just got a new Tesla and this looks like a good excuse for a long road trip. Also, KC has some great BBQ.

I thought MWAVE 2024 was great. My wife and kid enjoyed it as much as I did. I didn’t expect that. Thanks for organizing and putting it on.
